Deliciously tender scallops with a golden crust, enhanced by lemon juice and browned butter.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound scallops
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Fresh lemon juice
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat dry the scallops with a paper towel and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Carefully place the scallops in the skillet, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Sear for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Flip the scallops and add butter to the skillet, basting with the melted butter for another 2-3 minutes until cooked through.
  5. Remove from heat, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the scallops, and garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

Ensure scallops are dry to get the perfect sear. Use a heavy-bottomed skillet for even cooking.
