A delightful dessert that combines the indulgent flavors of pecan pie with soft, custardy bread pudding, topped with a decadent caramel sauce.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups of cubed bread
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 cup of chopped pecans
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • Caramel sauce for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  3. Add the cubed bread to the custard mixture and stir until well soaked.
  4. Gently fold in the chopped pecans.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until set and golden brown.
  7. Let it cool slightly before serving.
  8. Serve warm, drizzled with caramel sauce.

Notes

Use stale bread for better texture. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
