Creamy cheese and spicy jalapenos combine in flaky puff pastry for an irresistible snack.

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese or Monterey Jack
  • 1/2 cup sliced jalapenos (fresh or pickled)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash)
  • Dipping Sauces (ranch, sriracha mayo, or honey mustard)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Beef Bacon: Cook until crispy, drain excess fat, and cool before crumbling.
  2. Prepare Jalapenos: Mince pickled jalapenos and wash, seed, and mince fresh jalapenos.
  3. Create the Creamy Base: Mix cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth.
  4. Integrate All Flavors: Add cheese, bacon, jalapenos, brine, garlic powder, and seasonings to cream cheese and fold together.
  5. Prepare Puff Pastry: Roll out the thawed puff pastry to a 10×12 inch rectangle.
  6. Spread the Filling: Spread jalapeno popper filling over the puff pastry, leaving a 1/2-inch border.
  7. Layer and Seal: Place a second sheet of puff pastry on top and roll slightly to seal.
  8. Cut the Twists: Trim edges and cut into strips 3/4 to 1-inch wide.
  9. Twist and Arrange: Twist each strip and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  10. Apply Egg Wash: Brush twists with egg wash and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
  11. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  12. Bake to Golden Perfection: Bake for 18-25 minutes until golden brown.
  13. Cool and Serve: Cool for 5-10 minutes before serving with dipping sauces.

Notes

These twists can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
