Delicious and healthy pepperoni pizza rolls made with protein-rich dough and gooey mozzarella, perfect for a snack or appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup protein-rich dough (such as whole wheat or high-protein flour)
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Cornmeal for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the protein-rich dough into a rectangle.
  3. Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  4. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly across the sauce and arrange the pepperoni slices on top.
  5. Sprinkle the Italian seasoning over the toppings.
  6. Starting from one edge, carefully roll the dough into a log shape.
  7. Slice the log into individual rolls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Brush the tops of the rolls with olive oil and sprinkle with cornmeal if using.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  10. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
