  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the apple cider vinegar, honey, salt, red pepper flakes, and black pepper. Heat over medium heat until the honey is dissolved.
  3. Carefully pour the hot brine over the sliced onions in the jar, ensuring they are fully submerged.
  4. Allow the jar to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  5. Seal the jar tightly and refrigerate for at least 24 hours.
