Classic Heart Thumbprint Cookies filled with vibrant jam, perfect for celebrating love.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup jam (your favorite flavor!)

Instructions

  1. Cream together unsalted butter and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  2. Add vanilla extract and mix gently to combine.
  3. Gradually sift in all-purpose flour and salt; mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Roll tablespoon-sized portions of dough into smooth balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Press your thumb into the center of each dough ball to create a heart-shaped indentation.
  6. Spoon a teaspoon of jam into each indentation.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 12-15 minutes until lightly golden around the edges.

Notes

Ensure butter is at room temperature for the best creaming results. Experiment with different jam flavors and consider chilling the dough if it’s too sticky.
