Delight in the enchanting flavors of French Strawberry Macarons, a perfect balance of crisp and chewy with a creamy strawberry filling.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pink food coloring
  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam
  • Buttercream or ganache (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your baking sheets with parchment paper, ensuring they are flat and ready for the macaron batter to be piped on.
  2. Sift together the almond flour and powdered sugar into a bowl. This will help create a light and airy texture for your macaron shells.
  3. Whip the egg whites until they are frothy. Gradually add the granulated sugar while continuing to whip until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold in the vanilla extract and a few drops of pink food coloring into the meringue.
  5. Carefully fold in the almond flour and powdered sugar mixture until the batter flows like lava.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a piping bag and pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheets.
  7. Let them sit at room temperature for about 30-60 minutes until a skin forms on top.
  8. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  9. Bake the macarons for 12-15 minutes until they have risen and developed their beautiful feet.
  10. Allow the macarons to cool completely on the baking sheets.
  11. Sandwich two macarons together with strawberry jam or buttercream for an irresistible finish.

Notes

Humidity matters: Bake on a dry day for the best results. Letting egg whites age for a day helps with stability.
