A delightful blend of grilled cheese and French dip, featuring gooey cheese and savory roast beef with a rich beef broth for dipping.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 slices of cheese (Swiss or Provolone)
  • 1 cup of thinly sliced roast beef
  • 1 cup of beef broth
  • Butter for grilling
  • Optional: horseradish or mustard

Instructions

  1. Warm the beef broth in a skillet until warm.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Layer a slice of cheese, roast beef, and another slice of cheese on the unbuttered side of one slice of bread.
  4. Assemble the sandwich with the other slice of bread, buttered side up.
  5. Grill over medium heat until golden brown on both sides and cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Serve with warm beef broth on the side for dipping.

Notes

Let the sandwich rest for a minute after grilling to help the cheese set before slicing.
