A comforting and delicious casserole made with fluffy eggs, savory sausage, and melted cheese, perfect for family breakfasts or brunch!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound sausage (breakfast sausage)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 cups cubed bread (preferably stale)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Sauté the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  4. Combine the cubed bread and cooked sausage with the egg mixture.
  5. Mix in the shredded cheese until evenly distributed.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  7. Bake for 30-40 minutes until set and golden.
  8. Cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Use stale bread for a better texture; feel free to add veggies or swap the sausage for bacon.
