  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Mayonnaise
  • 2 slices bread (your choice)

Instructions

  1. Prep the green tomatoes by dipping the slices in a bowl of buttermilk, ensuring they are fully coated.
  2. Coat with cornmeal mixture by combining cornmeal with salt and pepper, then dredge the buttermilk-coated slices until fully coated.
  3. Fry in hot oil until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  4. Toast two slices of your choice of bread until golden.
  5. Assemble the sandwich by spreading mayonnaise on the toasted bread, layering lettuce, bacon, and fried tomatoes, then top with the second slice of bread, mayo side down.
  6. Serve immediately, slicing the sandwich in half to enjoy while warm.
