A simple yet flavorful recipe for crispy cod fillets with a crunchy exterior and flaky interior, perfect for a homemade seafood meal.

  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Cooking oil, for frying
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Season the cod fillets generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Set up a breading station with flour, beaten egg, and breadcrumbs on separate plates.
  4. Bread each seasoned fillet by dredging in flour, then egg, and finally coating with breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat cooking oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  6. Cook the breaded fillets until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  7. Transfer the fillets to a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes.
  8. Serve with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

For extra crispy coating, mix panko breadcrumbs with regular breadcrumbs. Pat the cod dry before seasoning for better spice adherence.
