  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for filling)
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup melted butter (for filling)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for icing)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining warm milk and yeast, letting sit until bubbly.
  2. Add sugar, melted butter, salt, eggs, and flour to the yeast mixture to form dough.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  5. Roll the dough out into a generous rectangle.
  6. Brush the rolled-out dough with melted butter, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Spread cream cheese evenly over the dough.
  8. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into slices.
  9. Place slices in a greased baking pan and let rise for 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Mix icing by combining powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth; drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
