A classic lasagna recipe with layers of tender noodles, savory meat, and rich cheeses, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. Sauté the ground beef with the chopped onion and minced garlic until the meat is no longer pink; drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in the marinara sauce and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Combine ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl and mix well.
  6. Spread a layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a baking dish, then layer with noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, a third of the mozzarella, and another layer of meat sauce. Repeat layers, finishing with noodles, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese topped with Parmesan.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
  10. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

This lasagna can be made ahead of time and refrigerated before baking for convenience.
