A comforting bowl of Butter Chicken, rich and buttery, with tender pieces of chicken enveloped in a creamy, spiced sauce.

  • 1 pound boneless chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, and ginger; sauté until softened and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add chicken pieces to the skillet. Cook until browned on all sides, about 6-8 minutes.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce, heavy cream, garam masala, turmeric, cumin, and salt. Mix until well combined and chicken is coated.
  4. Let the mixture simmer for 20-30 minutes to thoroughly cook the chicken and thicken the sauce.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro.

Notes

Pairs perfectly with rice or naan. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
