A rich, creamy, and spiced chicken dish that embodies comfort food, perfect for cozy nights or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato puree
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the chicken pieces with yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, turmeric, cumin, and chili powder. Cover and let it marinate in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the butter over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the marinated chicken to the skillet, cooking until it’s no longer pink, about 8-10 minutes.
  4. Pour in the tomato puree, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer and let cook for about 15 minutes.
  5. Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream, allowing it to simmer for another 10 minutes.
  6. Season with salt to taste and garnish with fresh coriander before serving.
