  • 1 package puff pastry sheets
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Optional: additional powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a floured surface and cut them into charming heart shapes.
  3. Combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice in a bowl until smooth.
  4. Place a generous dollop of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each heart.
  5. Top each filled heart with several slices of fresh strawberries.
  6. Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling to create pockets and brush with the beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
