Delicious heart-shaped cookies bursting with sweet, tangy strawberry flavor, perfect for Valentine’s Day or any celebration.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup dried strawberries, finely chopped
  • 1 egg, for egg wash (optional)
  • Granulated sugar, for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Creaming together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the all-purpose flour and salt, mixing gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in the finely chopped dried strawberries.
  6. Roll the dough into a disk and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
  7. On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  8. Using a cookie cutter, cut the dough into heart shapes.
  9. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  11. Allow the cookies to cool on a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze in a container for longer storage.
